Biological Parents - Paternity and Maternity Testing
A person.s genetic make-up is unique, but half of his/her DNA is inherited from the biological father and the other half is from the biological mother. By comparing the DNA profile of the alleged father or mother of a child, it is possible to determine whether an individual is indeed the biological parent of that child.
DNA profiling (DNA fingerprinting, genotyping) is currently the most authoritative biotechnology available to determine human relationship and is accepted worldwide by the legal and scientific communities, as well as government agencies.
 
Standard Cases
Alleged father + child (Paternity), mother unavailable for testing ("motherless'case") -
This is the most popular test for Personal Use.
Mother + child (Maternity), alleged father unavailable for testing ("fatherless' case")
This is most significant in suspicious cases of Baby Switching
after child birth in a public institute or in cases of Test Tube Baby.
Alleged father + mother + child ("Trio") -
This the most common test for Legal Use.
